Tzohar Clarifies Licensing Authority Amid Kashrut Certification Dispute

Tzohar, a kosher certification organization, responded to claims from the Chief Rabbinate Council and the Director-General of the Ministry of Religious Services regarding the alleged cancellation of its kosher certification license. Tzohar stated that the Director-General of the Ministry of Religious Services holds no authority to issue kosher certification licenses. They emphasized that only the Director-General of the Chief Rabbinate has the power to grant such licenses, and confirmed that this official indeed granted Tzohar its license. Furthermore, Tzohar noted that the Chief Rabbinate Council was aware of their license application and had even submitted responses to the Supreme Court in petitions related to the matter.
