Tzohar Receives Official Certification Authority from Chief Rabbinate After Legal Battle
After a prolonged legal process with the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, the Tzohar Kashrut system has been officially authorized to operate as a kosher certification body. This approval follows proceedings in the Supreme Court, where Tzohar requested that its application for recognition be evaluated according to legally established criteria in a fair and objective manner. Tzohar announced that the authorization was granted today by the Director General of the Chief Rabbinate.
Tzohar described this development as a historic and unprecedented step that could strengthen Israel's kosher certification system by increasing transparency, reducing costs, and enhancing public trust in kosher supervision. Following the decision, Tzohar has issued updated kosher certificates to most businesses under its supervision, now including the word "Kosher."
