Chief Rabbinate Cancels Kashrut License for Tzohar Over Lack of Proper Approval
Following the announcement that the Tzohar Kashrut system received authorization to operate as a kosher certification body, the Chief Rabbinate Council stated it does not currently approve granting the license to the organization. In an official letter, the council revealed that they learned Tzohar had received notification from the Chief Rabbinate's CEO about the license approval. However, the CEO failed to inform the council beforehand, as required by law, administrative logic, and proper governance. Consequently, the matter has not been discussed by the Chief Rabbinate Council or its Kashrut Committee, leading to the cancellation of the license.
