Dramatic Footage Shows Car Crashing into Jerusalem Checkpoint During Pursuit

Police and Border Police forces in the Jerusalem area apprehended a Palestinian suspect early Sunday morning after a complex chase concluded with the suspect's vehicle crashing into a raised bollard barrier at the Al-Jib checkpoint near Jerusalem. The incident began when officers identified a vehicle suspected of being stolen and initiated a pursuit. Despite repeated calls to stop, the driver continued at high speed, attempting to evade the forces. Information about the escape attempt was relayed to Border Police officers at the Al-Jib crossing, who quickly activated the hydraulic bollard barrier to block the vehicle's path. Security and bodycam footage captured the dramatic moments as the speeding car collided forcefully with the raised barrier, causing sparks, dislodging vehicle parts, and bringing the car to an immediate halt. Armed officers and soldiers then rushed to the vehicle, extracted the suspect, and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as an 18-year-old resident of East Jerusalem and was transferred for further investigation. The suspected stolen vehicle was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
