A study of Israeli Russian-speaking Telegram channels before the 2026 Knesset elections revealed that war and security issues dominated election coverage. Nearly two-thirds of the audience received information from neutral, unattributed sources. A surprising finding was that the dominant narrative, even in critical channels, aligned with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's framework. The research analyzed 23 channels with 1.9 million subscribers from late August to late October 2026.

A study by LS Group Consulting examined the Israeli Russian-speaking Telegram landscape leading up to the 2026 Knesset elections, analyzing 23 popular channels with 1.9 million subscribers and nearly 30,000 posts from late August to late October 2026. The research found that election-related topics were secondary to coverage of the ongoing war, confrontation with Iran, and international pressure. Unexpectedly, the dominant narrative across many channels mirrored that of the incumbent prime minister.

In half of the analyzed sources, election content comprised less than 25% of Israeli-focused material. Major news platforms like Vesti Israel, Channel 9, and Israel's Labor Affairs prioritized security updates over political debates. Only a small number of personal blogs, including Goldenberg Speaks, Boris and Laura, and Dmitry Dubov's channel, dedicated over 60% of their content to elections.

Thirteen of the 23 channels maintained a strictly neutral stance, avoiding support for any specific political camp. Seven platforms allowed criticism of the right-wing bloc. A significant finding was that 13 channels, reaching 77% of the audience, presented a worldview consistent with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's framework, even those with a critical stance towards the government, such as "Eastern Syndrome" and "On Duty in Israel."

Using the Linguistiks 4D Framework, researchers determined that constant coverage of military and foreign policy threats led authors to inadvertently adopt the prime minister's conceptual model, regardless of their personal opinions. When focusing solely on political posts, semantic similarities were more broadly distributed among Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid, and Gadi Eisenkot. Yair Golan's narrative, however, showed a negative correlation with all 23 resources. The researchers emphasized that this semantic alignment reflects a shared information environment rather than financial or organizational ties to political campaigns.
