The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a strike on Wednesday against two individuals suspected of observing IDF forces near Qabrikha, outside the area of Israeli control in southern Lebanon. The IDF stated the strike was carried out to neutralize a threat to its forces operating in the security zone.

Several hours after the strike, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir held a situation assessment at the Northern Command and in southern Lebanon. He was joined by the General of the Northern Command the General of the Ground Forces, Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan, the General of Division 91, Brig. Gen. Yuval Gatz, and other commanders.

"We will not allow Hezbollah to establish terror infrastructure in the area," Zamir stated. "Any attempt by the enemy to establish itself, strengthen, or threaten the northern communities will be met immediately and powerfully. During the war, Hezbollah once again proved that it is an Iranian proxy and not a 'Lebanese patriot.' Its actions harmed the interests of the state of Lebanon and its citizens. The IDF is alert to developments in nearby and distant arenas and is prepared to strike any enemy that tries to harm us, as we have done in the past."

During the visit, the Chief of Staff was presented with the "Robotic Combat Team" model. "The model reinforces the principle that the IDF is ahead of civilians and the innovative concept that robotic and technological means are ahead of and alongside our forces," he said. "This increases operational effectiveness and strengthens the defense of our forces. This is a significant leap forward, and I am impressed by the close connection between the Northern Command and the Ground Forces. I instruct to continue accelerating the processes for integrating robotic capabilities into the fighting forces, with the goal of creating an operational advantage and superiority on the battlefield."
