Police in the Judea and Samaria district have concluded an investigation into alleged widespread abuse of infants at a daycare center in Ariel. A statement of charges has been filed against the daycare's manager and two caregivers, who are suspected of hundreds of instances of severe abuse against babies aged ten months to one year and three months. The alleged abuse included choking, shaking, binding, and throwing the infants, with some cases potentially leading to loss of consciousness.

The investigation began in early October following a report of suspicious activity at the facility. Security camera footage reviewed by investigators revealed initial evidence, leading to the arrest of a caregiver in her 40s. Further review uncovered more incidents involving another caregiver, a foreign national in her 30s working without a permit, and the daycare manager.

In response to the allegations and to ensure the safety of the remaining children, the daycare was issued a 60-day closure order. A special investigative team, comprising officers from Ariel station and the Samaria region's crime-fighting unit, analyzed over 2,400 hours of security footage spanning more than 60 days of operation.

Three additional caregivers suspected of involvement have been arrested and questioned, subsequently released to house arrest pending further investigation. The three main suspects have had their arrests extended, and with the investigation complete, prosecutors are preparing to file indictments. Authorities have also seized the bank accounts of the primary suspects.

Moshe Finchi, Commander of the Judea and Samaria District, described the findings as deeply disturbing, stating, "Harm to the helpless, who cannot defend themselves or ask for help, is among the most severe and shocking acts." He added that the evidence depicted severe violence, including choking and throwing, which allegedly caused infants to become disoriented or lose consciousness, betraying the trust parents placed in the caregivers.
