A foreign soccer player currently playing in Israel's Premier League is under investigation for allegedly sexually harassing a masseuse who provided him with treatment. The police launched the probe following a complaint filed by the masseuse. The incident brings to mind a similar case earlier this year when the Maccabi Tel Aviv coach, the former coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, resigned from the club after facing accusations of sexual harassment against a taxi driver. In a statement released at the time, the Maccabi Tel Aviv coach expressed regret, stating, "I do not remember the details of the incident, as I drank too much and therefore chose to take a taxi. If my words offended the taxi driver, I sincerely and wholeheartedly apologize to her. I also wish to apologize to all the club staff and to our wonderful fans. This conduct does not meet the standards and values I set for myself. I take responsibility for the situation and commit to learning from it, improving, and addressing these matters professionally and appropriately. Again, I sincerely apologize." The article also notes other related incidents, including a groundskeeper at Maccabi Tel Aviv accused of sex offenses against a minor and an arrest in Tirat Carmel on suspicion of rape in a shelter during an air raid siren.
