Former Israeli Attorney General and Supreme Court Justice Edna Arbel Dies at 82
Edna Arbel, a former Attorney General of Israel and retired Supreme Court Justice, has passed away at the age of 82. Arbel was a prominent figure in the Israeli legal system, known for her influential roles throughout her career. She was appointed District Attorney in 1984 and served in that capacity for about four years before becoming a judge at the Tel Aviv District Court. After approximately five years on the district court bench, she was appointed Attorney General in 1996. In May 2004, Arbel was selected as a justice of the Supreme Court of Israel, a position she held until her retirement in the summer of 2014.
