Rabbi Amos Guetta Stabbed to Death in Netanya Yeshiva, Suspect Arrested
Rabbi Amos Guetta, a 75-year-old kabbalist and head of a yeshiva in Netanya, was fatally stabbed on Wednesday morning inside the yeshiva where he prayed. Emergency medical teams transported him to Laniado Hospital while performing resuscitation efforts, but doctors ultimately declared him dead after prolonged attempts to save him.
Initial police investigations reveal that the suspect is a man in his twenties who was reportedly part of the rabbi's circle. According to the investigation, after finishing his prayers near Rabbi Guetta, the suspect drew a knife he had brought and stabbed the rabbi four times. The yeshiva's gabbai (administrator) was also injured while trying to stop the attacker and prevent further stabbings.
The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended after a several-hour manhunt in central Netanya. The police continue their investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding this shocking murder.
