Czech football officials are actively pursuing Barcelona's young talent, Ourian Goren, who holds Czech citizenship and represents Israel in youth national teams. Pavel Nedvěd, the Czech national teams manager, has publicly confirmed that the Czech Republic has made an offer to Goren, expressing a desire to integrate him directly into the senior national team. Nedvěd described Goren as a technically developed player, comparable to Pedri, and a typical product of Barcelona's academy.
The Czech media has highlighted this as a particularly appealing prospect for Czech football, suggesting Goren might have a better chance of participating in major tournaments with the Czech Republic than with Israel. Israel has only qualified for the World Cup once and never for the Euros. Goren's technical abilities are seen as precisely the kind of player the Czech football system struggles to develop, fueling the national team's renewed interest.
While Czech interest in Goren has been reported before, this marks the first time Nedvěd has publicly acknowledged the contact and the intention to include him in the senior squad. However, no decision from Goren has been announced, nor has an official call-up been made.
