Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch Endorses Teaching Taharot Tractate to Children in Daily Mishnah Study

Ahead of the start of studying the Taharot order in the daily Mishnah cycle, Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch received Rabbi Shmuel Halperin, chairman of the Daf Yomi Mishnayot project, at his home to bless the initiative. Rabbi Sternbuch emphasized the great importance of this learning project, revealing that he himself has studied these Mishnayot every morning before prayer for many years. He expressed great joy over the expansion of the study revolution, which has attracted thousands of learners.

During the visit, Rabbi Halperin asked whether it would be appropriate to encourage children to complete the entire Mishnah cycle by their bar mitzvah, despite some concepts in Taharot being difficult to understand. Rabbi Sternbuch responded firmly that it is indeed very worthwhile, explaining that even if not everything is immediately clear, the children absorb the concepts through study.

Rabbi Sternbuch also highlighted the spiritual merit of studying Mishnayot for elevating the soul. At the conclusion of the meeting, he warmly blessed Rabbi Halperin and urged him to continue the project with even greater strength and determination.
