Israeli Defense Minister Katz Credits Trump for Preventing Hezbollah Collapse, Warns Lebanon Invasion Risk Remains
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz stated in a briefing to military journalists that former U.S. President Donald Trump prevented a massive blow to Hezbollah. Katz explained that Trump linked Iran to Lebanon because he sought to finalize an agreement with Tehran, which in turn averted a devastating strike against Hezbollah throughout Lebanon.
Katz revealed that the large tunnel destroyed the previous day was previously unknown and that additional tunnels were discovered that are unparalleled anywhere else. He emphasized that the threat of a Hezbollah invasion from Lebanon remains, noting there are approximately 1,200 Hezbollah militants positioned from the border fence to the Litani River.
He also informed the commander of the U.S. Central Command that Israel will not withdraw from its security zones in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. Regarding Iran, Katz said Tehran has not yet decided whether to resume its nuclear program. He warned that conflict with Iran could reignite either if Trump concludes negotiations have failed or if Iran launches an attack on Israel.
