Father Arrested for Son’s Murder in Ramla After Initial Suicide Investigation
On May 15, 2026, a man in his 40s from Ramla was found dead, initially suspected as a suicide. However, about six weeks later, the police arrested his father, Aharon Saadia, on suspicion of shooting his son in the head. The father was brought to a hearing at the Ramla Magistrate’s Court, where his detention was extended until July 7 as the investigation continues.
The victim’s body was sent to the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine, but as the investigation progressed, police began doubting the suicide theory. A covert inquiry was launched, strengthening suspicions of murder. On the day of the incident, the father was questioned at the Ramla police station and later interrogated under caution after initial doubts about the cause of death arose.
Police found a firearm at the scene and collected testimonies from family members who reported the victim’s drug use. The father claimed during questioning that his son’s room door was locked from the inside. Authorities are still gathering further evidence to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death. Judge Michal Moalem Shiferman approved the extension of the father’s detention as the case develops.
