Maccabi Haifa Excludes Stewart and Haziza From Upcoming Training Camp

Maccabi Haifa is set to depart for its preseason training camp in Hungary on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, but two key players, Trebenta Stewart and Dolev Haziza, will not be joining the squad. Stewart requested a delayed arrival, casting uncertainty over his future with the club. The team is open to selling him if they can recoup the 1.5 million euros they paid for him last summer from Serbian club Radnički, and Stewart is not expected to block a transfer.

Haziza, 30, is searching for a new club that meets his professional and financial expectations. The club decided it was best for him to remain training locally at Kfar Galim during this period. Both the sporting director Lior Rafaelov and coach Barak Bakhar communicated this decision to Haziza in a meeting the previous evening.

Stewart joined Maccabi Haifa last summer and scored 12 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. Haziza has been a central figure at the club since his arrival in the 2019/20 season from Bnei Yehuda, alongside Yuval Ashkenazi, under coach Marco Balbul. He has won three league titles, a Super Cup, and helped the team reach the Champions League group stage in 2022/23, famously assisting Charis Sheri's goal against Paris Saint-Germain at Sammy Ofer Stadium.

The club's roster for the Hungary camp excludes several other key players from recent seasons, signaling a period of transition as Maccabi Haifa prepares for the upcoming campaign.
