Maccabi Haifa Releases Seven Players in Major Squad Overhaul Ahead of New Season
Lior Rafaelov, the sporting director of Maccabi Haifa, recently held individual meetings with seven squad players, Matias Nahuel, Show, Edgar Agba, Alan Stewart, Hamza Golani, Goni Naor, and Dolev Haziza, to inform them they are not part of the club's plans for the upcoming season and are free to seek new teams. Despite this, the club assured these players that until they secure new clubs, they will continue to receive full contractual benefits, including salary, housing, and a vehicle.
The seven players will maintain full training routines supported by professional, physiological, and medical staff, with some sessions conducted by head coach Barak Bachar. For professional reasons and season preparations, these training sessions will be scheduled at different times than the first team squad.
Dolev Haziza received a special exemption due to his long-standing contribution to the club and will continue training with the first team until he finds a new club. Maccabi Haifa remains optimistic that most of the released players will secure new teams before the current transfer window closes.
