Content Creator Shirly Levy Inspires Special Education Students at Shachaf School

At the Shachaf School near the Sea of Galilee, a special classroom called the "Imagination Lab" offers students with special needs an interactive, visual, and personalized learning experience. Equipped with large touch screens, the lab provides support in subjects like science, history, and math, alongside enrichment activities that encourage creativity and self-expression.

Recently, students worked on creating viral videos inspired by content from creator Shirly Levy. During the lesson, Levy surprised the students by entering the classroom, engaging with them directly, and sharing personal tips and stories. This encounter was part of an enrichment program by the Variety Israel Association, which supports children and youth with special needs by providing opportunities and tools to boost their confidence and abilities.

The partnership between Variety and Shachaf School has lasted eight years, enhancing educational and experiential options for the students. School principal Kiki Hefetz highlighted how the lab helps students overcome learning difficulties by enabling them to express themselves independently through technology, increasing their confidence and sense of capability.

Students reported that the dynamic and engaging environment of the Imagination Lab helps them focus better and enjoy learning. One student proudly shared how they progressed from not knowing how to operate a computer to programming with AI tools.

To support Variety's ongoing enrichment activities, a social campaign involving Pink Eden water bottles sold at Pizza Hut outlets and online raises funds, with all proceeds donated to the association. These funds will help expand Variety's reach to more schools and students, providing them with the resources and belief needed to succeed.
