A man in his 40s sustained critical injuries on Friday in a traffic accident involving two trucks on Highway 6, near the Sorek interchange. Firefighters worked to extricate the man, who was trapped inside one of the trucks. Rafi Segev, Deputy Sharon District Manager and a paramedic with Magen David Adom (MDA), was on his way home from a helicopter paramedic shift when the report came in. He arrived at the scene within moments, describing the truck driver as trapped in a completely crushed cab. Segev climbed onto the front of the truck to begin medical treatment while simultaneously alerting the MDA dispatch and dispatching their helicopter.
