A father of the groom, approximately 60 years old, collapsed during his son's wedding ceremony at an event hall in the Shfela region on Thursday evening. His life was saved by guests and Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency teams who performed prolonged resuscitation efforts.

The incident was reported to MDA's 101 hotline at 18:22. An MDA dispatcher, Iyas Azbareh, and paramedic Shoval Ramz immediately began guiding those present by phone. MDA systems identified that a defibrillator was available at the venue, and guests were instructed to use it.

Guests initiated CPR and administered three electric shocks to the man before emergency services arrived. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived on the scene continued advanced resuscitation, including another shock, administering medication, and providing life-saving medical treatment. After extensive efforts, his heart resumed beating, and he regained consciousness.

Following stabilization, the man was evacuated directly to the catheterization lab at Kaplan Hospital, in stable condition. MDA medics Eden Sinai and Meir Aviv, along with paramedics Moran Ben David and Chen Warmus, stated that upon their arrival, guests were already performing CPR using the defibrillator under the guidance of the 101 hotline. They emphasized that the guests' swift actions prior to the teams' arrival were crucial for the subsequent treatment.

"This is a particularly moving moment, as our goal is to save lives, and in this case, to allow the father to return to his family after such a dramatic event on his son's joyous day," the medics said. The man was conscious and in stable condition when transported to the hospital.
