Two of Israel's most anticipated reality shows, "Survivor" (Reshet 13) and "GOLSTAR" (HOT), will not premiere head-to-head as initially feared. Reshet 13 had hoped its "Survivor" season, hosted by Guy Zuarz and featuring a mix of 10 celebrities and 10 unknowns, would boost its ratings against rival Channel 12. The cast includes "Big Brother" stars Shi Hai and Linor Savnik, "Love New" contestant Lir Oz, Stefan Lager, TikTok star Gal Tamam, and "Patriots" panelist Avi Shushan. "Survivor" is set to premiere on Saturday, the 24th.
"GOLSTAR," produced by ADD for HOT, was expected to compete directly with "Survivor." This season boasts a cast including Erez Isakov, Ron Nesher, Liam Golan, "Survivor" contestant Itai Regev, Liran Strauber, Liron Berkovich, Giovanni Rosso, and Itai Shechter. Isakov is also slated to star in a "GOLSTAR" movie filmed in Las Vegas alongside "Beverly Hills, 90210" actor Ian Ziering.
To avoid a ratings battle, HOT has decided to postpone the premiere of "GOLSTAR" by several weeks. Originally slated for October-November, the show will now air in November-December. This decision is seen as a win-win, alleviating pressure on Reshet 13 and allowing both shows to capture their intended audiences without direct competition.
