Israel's Ministry of Economy has issued an urgent recall for two models of fans due to significant safety defects discovered during official inspections. Consumers are strongly advised to immediately cease using these products.

The first recalled item is a black standing fan with a remote, model B-SF2008R, imported by Sahara Electronics Ltd. Manufactured in China and sold between March and August 2025, this fan failed to meet Israeli Standard TI 900, parts 1 and 2.80. Internal wiring issues were found that could lead to short circuits, overheating, potential fires, and electric shock hazards.

The second product subject to recall is a white ceiling fan with a pull cord, model MATRIX MX-CF42-4CL-WH, imported and marketed by Saint Lakath Ltd. This fan, also made in China and sold from April 2023 to April 2025, did not comply with Israeli Standard TI 900, part 2.80. The recall notice states that its mechanical connection is insufficiently strong, posing a risk of detachment and fall during operation, which could cause serious injury.

The Ministry of Economy urges anyone who purchased either of these fan models to verify the specific model and identifying details before considering further use, and to stop using them immediately.
