Israeli guard Ben Scherf did not play a single minute in the Brooklyn Nets' preseason game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, a concerning development for the rookie as he competes for playing time. The Nets lost the game 144-128.

Scherf's teammate, Danny Wolf, played 10 minutes, recording 2 rebounds and no points. This follows a trend of limited minutes for Scherf in previous preseason games: he played 15 minutes against Charlotte, 12 minutes against Philadelphia, and 8 minutes against Washington.

Meanwhile, Michael Brown Jr., the sixth pick in the recent draft and Scherf's backcourt teammate, made a strong unofficial NBA debut. The 20-year-old guard played 18 minutes, scoring 15 points, with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

The Brooklyn Nets will begin their official NBA season in one week against Charlotte. It remains to be seen if Scherf will return to the team's rotation or if his lack of playing time will continue.
