Yonatan Uriach, a close advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, met with a prominent senior official from Qatar several months after the October 7th attacks, according to a report by Channel 12. One of these meetings reportedly took place in Berlin and was also attended by Israel Einhorn and lobbyist Jay Pootlik. Uriach has previously denied knowing or meeting Pootlik and continued to deny this in response to the latest report.

The meetings with the Qatari official were not part of any official Israeli government mission. During an investigation on May 19, 2025, at Lahav 433, Uriach was confronted with testimony from a former Mossad official stating that he and Einhorn had met with Al-Thawadi and presented various ideas. Uriach claimed he did not recall the details of the meetings, stating he "barely remembers one" when asked about their number and was unclear about their locations, suggesting they may have occurred in London, Paris, or Germany.

Al-Thawadi is described as a close associate of the Emir of Qatar and later participated in a White House meeting where Netanyahu apologized for an Israeli strike against Hamas officials in Doha. In that meeting, Al-Thawadi acted on behalf of the Emir to ensure the apology's wording aligned with Qatari approval.

According to Netanyahu's testimony, Uriach did not update him on his business dealings with Qatar, discuss the country with him, or inform him of the meetings with the senior Qatari official. This revelation follows a previous report from Channel 12 about Uriach's September 2024 ChatGPT conversations, where he sought a strategic plan to improve Qatar's image, including ideas for messages to Israeli and global Jewish communities and US opinion leaders.

Uriach denied in his investigation that he acted to promote Qatar's interests in Israel and claimed he took no action based on his ChatGPT requests. In response to the latest publication, he reiterated his denial of meeting Pootlik but did not address the meetings with Al-Thawadi.
