Israeli star Deni Avdija demonstrated improved efficiency in a preseason game for the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 26 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists in 25 minutes during a 110-98 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Analysts noted Avdija's strong performance, with Sports Illustrated (SI) reporting that he and Ja Morant showed enough to generate interest. SI highlighted Avdija as particularly intriguing, calling him Portland's best player from the previous season when he was an All-Star and noting that the offense was built around him. This season, however, he joins a more crowded roster.

The game against Sacramento provided Avdija a low-pressure opportunity to continue his effective preseason. The article suggests that efficiency was the only previous issue that could be attributed to Avdija, stemming from his high usage rate as a forward last season. Questions had arisen about how his statistics might be affected by the team's offseason moves and the presence of two dominant guards alongside him.

While it is still early and things could change, Avdija's performance is considered encouraging. Analysts believe that if offensive issues arise for the team, Avdija is unlikely to be the source of those problems.
