Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, visited the committee's operational logistics center in Shoham on Tuesday, 13 days before the polls open. During his tour, Yossi Thoran, director of the center, presented the operations, which include packing ballot boxes and committee envelopes, rigorous quality control, and shipping election materials via hundreds of trucks to distribution points nationwide. Every shipment, down to the last pen, is meticulously checked.

The logistics center is preparing for 7,331,981 eligible voters to cast ballots at 12,018 polling stations. Approximately 450 million ballots for 38 competing lists, 12 million ballot envelopes, and 4 million outer envelopes have been printed.

Innovations aimed at reducing errors and aiding poll workers were also showcased, including a new ruler with a dedicated slot for marking voters who have cast their ballot, and a backup system to quickly supply additional ballots and materials if needed on election day.

"The logistics center is where elections are most tangibly seen," Sohlberg stated. "For years, much work has been done behind the scenes, and at the crucial moment, it breaks through and reaches all polling stations across the country. The election committee staff and the logistics center staff work with determination, perseverance, and attention to every detail. Every shipment leaving here is thoroughly checked, down to the last pen."

Sohlberg also addressed preparations for security challenges, public discourse polarization, and cyber and artificial intelligence threats. "There are dozens of monitoring and control measures designed to ensure the results are true results," he said. "The paper ballot allows every vote to be counted, recounted, and corrected if necessary, thus providing great confidence in the results. We in the committee, despite all difficulties, are convinced of the integrity of the elections and are convinced that stealing an election is impossible."

He added that the committee is preparing for security, technological, and operational scenarios in cooperation with the Israel Police, Shin Bet, the Cyber Directorate, and other bodies. The 20 regional committees and the committee's teams are operating with a sense of mission and full readiness for election day.
