Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon on Wednesday, accompanied by senior military officials including the Commander of the Northern Command and the Commander of Division 91, Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaze. Katz toured the front line of villages, receiving a comprehensive briefing on "Operation Silver Plow," aimed at destroying terror infrastructure in the area. He praised the IDF soldiers for their determined actions against Hezbollah operatives.

Katz stated that he came to strengthen the IDF forces operating in security zones within Lebanon and Syria to protect residents of the Galilee and Golan Heights from jihadist threats. He reiterated that Israel would not withdraw from these security zones. "If Hezbollah joins Iran in an attack on Israel, it will be dealt a severe blow and lose additional territory in southern Lebanon, in the areas of Nabatieh and the Litani River, which will become part of Israel's permanent security zone," Katz declared, adding that the IDF is prepared for such a maneuver.

He further outlined plans for a potential escalation, stating that the entire Shiite population up to the Awali and Zahrani rivers would be evacuated northward to enable powerful strikes against terror infrastructure and to move drone threats away from northern Israeli communities. Additionally, the Dahiyeh neighborhood in Beirut would be evacuated and its terror infrastructure targeted, resulting in over a million Shiites becoming displaced within Lebanon.

Katz also invoked past leaders, saying, "Nasrallah destroyed the Shiite community in Lebanon until he was eliminated, and Naim Qassem may completely destroy it until he too is eliminated and sent to meet Nasrallah and his successor in the depths of hell."
