Netanyahu to Appear Sunday as Key Investigator Testimony Continues in Tel Aviv Court

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will appear in person on Sunday at the Tel Aviv District Court, according to a formal update filed by his lawyer, Amit Hadad, to the panel of judges hearing the case. The notice says Netanyahu intends to attend the session at the start of the week.

At the same time, Deputy President Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman ruled that the next hearing will hear testimony from Eli Levi, one of the central investigators in the “case files” investigations. His testimony is expected to take up a full day of court sessions.

Levi previously faced a stormy cross-examination by Hadad, during which documents and evidence were presented alleging serious investigative failures. Under questioning, Levi acknowledged multiple flaws, including conducting investigative actions without proper judicial warrants. He also struggled to explain contradictions raised in court, allegations that documents were marked retroactively, poor documentation of investigative steps, papers prepared on different dates, procedures not followed as required, and the disappearance of an entire evidence binder that had been transferred to the prosecution.

At the time, the defense argued that these were grave defects that undermined the reliability of the investigation and the integrity of the proceedings, while the prosecution continued to defend the investigation and the evidence gathered. Netanyahu is expected to be in the courtroom to follow the continuation of the full day of testimony in his case.
