Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in an interview on Tuesday with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) that he hopes there will be no security escalation before the upcoming elections. Responding to a request from the interviewer to reassure him about the absence of a security incident before the elections, Netanyahu said, "I very much hope not. It is true that Israel's enemies want to attack us these days, and there are signs of this." He also mentioned "Iran's proxies."

Meanwhile, Gadi Eisenkot, head of the National Unity Party, reached out to Galei Tzahal broadcasters via a post on the social media platform X, requesting an opportunity to debate Netanyahu directly. "I am ready, he will stammer," Eisenkot wrote. Earlier this month, Eisenkot had invited Netanyahu to a direct and public televised debate, to be broadcast live on all Israeli media channels. The invitation was formally sent in an official letter from the party.
