A 33-year-old resident of LaGrangeville, New York, has been indicted on charges of making severe threats against the Jewish community and federal agents. In May, a local Jewish charity received a series of threatening calls containing antisemitic remarks, including statements about wanting to "blow up Israel and kill all Jews" and "put all Jews in a gas chamber and kill them."

Following an investigation by the FBI, the suspect was identified. On October 7, two federal agents visited his home to question him. According to the indictment, upon their identification, the suspect threatened the agents, stating "a good cop is a dead cop" and warning them to leave before he "pulled something out."

Four hours after the agents departed, the suspect sent a text message to one of them, writing, "If you ever come to my house again, you won't like it. This is not a threat, it's a promise."

Law enforcement officials have emphasized a zero-tolerance policy. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Sarcone stated that threats against law enforcement have serious consequences, and FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig Tremaroli added that the suspect is guaranteed swift justice and actual prison time.

The defendant appeared in federal court in Syracuse this month on charges of threatening a federal law enforcement officer. He is being held in custody pending a hearing scheduled for Wednesday. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and three years of supervised release.
