A 9-month-old infant was critically injured after falling from a slide in Ashkelon on Tuesday afternoon. MDA paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated the infant to Barzilai Hospital in critical condition, while performing resuscitation efforts. En route to the hospital, the infant's heart resumed beating. Family members told first responders that the baby fell from a height during playtime at a gymboree. "We were told by family members that he fell from a height during gymboree play," said Shimon Yaakobovitz, a medic with United Hatzalah. "We performed resuscitation efforts and he was evacuated to the hospital for further treatment while in critical condition."

Senior MDA medic Daniel Yarden described the scene: "When we arrived, we were led to the infant who apparently fell from a slide during play. He was unconscious, without breathing and without a pulse. We immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and artificial respiration, and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital while continuing resuscitation."
