NBA TV analyst Shaun Little believes the return of star player Damian Lillard to the Portland Trail Blazers could create more opportunities for Israeli forward Deni Avdija. Little noted that Avdija has been playing with "great hunger" and an aggressive style, but the team's crowded backcourt, with players like Scoot Henderson and Ja Morant, has limited his space.
Little suggested that if the Trail Blazers make roster changes and free up more space, Avdija could become the team's "number one option." He emphasized the need to support Avdija and allow him to play his game. This analysis comes after Avdija's strong performance in his second preseason game, where he recorded nine points, five rebounds, and four assists in just under 17 minutes during Portland's 119-66 victory over the London Lions.
Avdija's play has drawn praise from US media, with Little specifically commending his "amazing" performance last year and his playing style. The analyst highlighted that many players in the backcourt have similar playing styles, making it difficult for Avdija to operate effectively. The potential return of Lillard, described as one of the greatest shooters ever, could significantly alter the team's dynamics and benefit Avdija.
