Maccabi Haifa Dominates Hapoel Jerusalem, Player Calls Team Best in Israel

Maccabi Haifa secured their fourth consecutive victory in the Israeli Premier League on Monday, defeating Hapoel Jerusalem 4-1 at Teddy Stadium. The win propelled Maccabi Haifa into the upper echelon of the league standings, concluding the sixth matchday.

Maccabi Haifa coach Barak Bakhar expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, particularly their hunger and aggression following an international break. Despite conceding a goal, he noted the team's quick recovery with good football and patience, emphasizing that it is still early in the season and there is room for improvement.

Bakhar also commented on player Guy Melamed, who came off the bench to score, highlighting his importance to the squad and the opportunities available to all players. He described the team as healthy and happy.

Pedro Brazão, who scored a spectacular goal and was a standout player, emphasized the importance of the win over his personal achievement. He stated his belief that Maccabi Haifa is the best team in Israel and expressed his happiness with the project and the club's atmosphere.

On the opposing side, Hapoel Jerusalem coach Lior Zada acknowledged a very poor performance, calling it their worst of the season. He lamented the team's inability to cope with Maccabi Haifa's individual quality after initially taking the lead.

Hapoel Jerusalem's goal scorer, Anidou Iddou, admitted that conceding after scoring disrupted the team's control and balance. He expressed a desire to improve and mentioned his personal goal to surpass his performance from the previous season. Iddou also spoke about looking up to player Kangi Houra as a role model and shared a moment of prayer with him after the match. Iddou's ultimate dream is to play for Bayern Munich.
