Member of Knesset Yitzhak Kroizer, who also chairs the Interior Committee, has sharply criticized the Attorney General's decision to approve a criminal investigation against him. The investigation stems from a physical altercation Kroizer had with police officers. Kroizer, a member of the Otzma Yehudit party, described the move as a "political witch hunt that has lost all restraint" and a "crushing, heartless, and unrestrained political persecution."

In a statement on his X account, Kroizer alleged that the Attorney General is pursuing a policy of selective enforcement and attempting to turn the victim into the suspect. He claimed that police officers attacked him, and instead of investigating his complaint, the system is trying to make him the suspect. Kroizer asserted that the decision is politically motivated, especially with elections approaching, contrasting it with what he perceives as a slow response to investigations requested against left-wing Knesset members.

He emphasized that when a public representative from the right is involved, "the system mobilizes at record speed." Kroizer concluded with a warning to senior legal officials, stating that the public will have its say at the ballot box on October 27, and "immediately thereafter, you will all be put on trial."

Kroizer had previously filed a complaint against the police officers, alleging they used unreasonable force against him during a memorial ceremony for four fallen soldiers in the West Bank last week.
