Rabbi Amram Azarzar, a highly respected and veteran resident of Acre, passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 80, surrounded by his family. He was known for his dedication to religious observance and community outreach, frequently attending synagogues and delivering Torah lessons. Rabbi Azarzar was deeply committed to Jewish education, ensuring his children were raised according to Torah principles, and actively participated in acts of kindness.

He managed the Chevra Kadisha, the Jewish burial society, in Acre, and was instrumental in establishing Torah study and repentance initiatives in the city. He also fostered unity among Jews and was particularly close to the Abuchatzira rabbinical dynasty, especially Rabbi David Abuchatzira of Nahariya. Throughout his life, he diligently studied both the revealed and hidden aspects of Torah and was involved in public affairs as a founder of the Shas party in Acre.

Rabbi Azarzar leaves behind a legacy of righteous descendants engaged in Torah study and good deeds. His sons include Rabbi Chaim Azarzar, CEO of the institutions of Rabbi Yekutiel Abuchatzira; Rabbi Meir Azarzar, a community rabbi in Hong Kong; Rabbi Eliyahu Azarzar, head of the 'Mishkan Evitar' yeshiva; Rabbi Shimon Azarzar, registrar of the yeshiva world; and Rabbi Yosef Noam Azarzar, an entrepreneur and philanthropist.

The family recently suffered a tragedy with the passing of his daughter, Ilana Yael Levy, an educator from Zichron Yaakov, who died young after an illness. She followed in her father's path, imparting Torah values and reverence for heaven to her students.

The funeral procession is scheduled to depart Sunday night at 11:00 PM from the Sephardic funeral home in Har HaMenuchot, Givat Shaul, Jerusalem, where he will be laid to rest.
