The Israeli military (IDF) has released video footage it claims shows armed terrorists operating freely within Gaza's Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip. According to Israeli security services, the hospital remains a key center for Hamas operations, functioning as a medical clinic during the day while simultaneously being used by Hamas for terrorist activities, including planning attacks and attempting to rebuild the organization's capabilities. The military alleges that Hamas exploits the presence of patients, medical staff, and civilians as human shields, a practice that violates international law.
Previous reports indicate that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have used the hospital and its surroundings for years to prepare attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. The IDF stated that terrorist organizations have utilized the medical facility for military purposes despite repeated Israeli calls to refrain from such actions. In December 2024, IDF forces conducted an operation near the hospital, uncovering significant military equipment and weapons, and apprehending over 240 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives, along with other suspected terrorists.
The newly released videos reportedly show armed terrorists inside the hospital, the placement of an explosive device near the facility, and the interrogation of a Hamas operative who detailed the group's activities at and around the hospital.
