A military court has sentenced terrorist Muhammad Walid Ahmed Saeed to 45 years in prison for his role in a September 4, 2022 attack on a bus carrying IDF soldiers. Saeed was convicted based on his confession of attempted murder. He and his accomplices blocked the bus's path, poured flammable material on it, and opened fire with an M-16 rifle. The shooting injured the bus driver and two soldiers. An officer on the bus managed to stop the vehicle as it veered towards the shoulder and a guardrail, preventing further casualties.

Following the attack, Saeed and his partners fled but were later apprehended by security forces. In addition to the prison sentence, Saeed received a suspended sentence, a fine of 15,000 shekels, and was ordered to pay 700,000 shekels in compensation to the victims.

Legal proceedings are ongoing for Saeed's three accomplices. The military prosecution stated its commitment to prosecuting all those who harm IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens, while ensuring victims' rights and support.
