Israeli prosecutors have filed an indictment in Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court against 38-year-old Uriah Cohen, a resident of Yitzhar, over a violent incident in Huwara earlier this month. Cohen was identified as one of six people involved in the attack, including a masked man and a suspect wearing Israel Defense Forces uniforms.
According to the indictment, Cohen and the masked man drove into the town while armed with rifles, saying they were looking for a flock of sheep that Cohen claimed had gone missing. During the incident, Cohen blocked a Palestinian vehicle, caused a crash, threatened the passengers with his weapon and fired into the air.
Prosecutors also say Cohen later collected the shell casings in an apparent effort to obstruct the investigation. He is charged with firing a weapon in a residential area, making threats and additional offenses. The case now proceeds in court.
