A foreign worker from Thailand, approximately 30 years old, was severely injured on Tuesday when a battery from an electric bicycle exploded in an open area near Azri'el. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) provided medical treatment at the scene and evacuated the man to Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer. He sustained burns over large portions of his body.

"When we arrived at the scene, they led us to the man who was lying down, conscious and suffering from burns on his body," said MDA emergency medical technician Noam Ifraimov. "We were told he was burned by an electric bicycle battery that exploded. We began providing medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital in serious condition."

The incident occurred shortly before the report was received, with the explosion taking place in an open area. The cause of the explosion is believed to be the electric bicycle battery.
