A man about 50 was killed Thursday after a car struck his motorcycle on the Ayalon Highway near the Hashalom Interchange. MDA teams that arrived at the scene found him with severe multiple trauma, without signs of life, and pronounced him dead there.
Paramedics Shimcha Simandoev and Yedidia Vogshel, along with medics Raziel Yusupovitz and Noam Raz, described a “shocking” crash between a car and a motorcycle. They said the motorcycle was shattered on the roadside and the rider was lying nearby unconscious, with no pulse or breathing. After medical checks, they said his injuries were too severe and they had to declare him dead at the scene.
This was the second fatal motorcycle crash on the Ayalon Highway this week. On Sunday, another rider about 50 died at exactly the same location near the Hashalom Interchange. Paramedics Amit Shushan and Naama Shnir said then that they found a man of about 50 lying on the road, unconscious and without pulse or breathing after being hit by a car, and that resuscitation efforts ended with his death at the scene.
Earlier Thursday, a man about 55 was seriously injured in a crash on Route 40 near the Yarkon Interchange. MDA evacuated him to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva with a head injury, after a collision between two vehicles in which one overturned. Later, before dawn, a man about 65 was seriously hurt while riding an electric bicycle on Route 444 between the Neve Yamin and Jaljulia junctions in the Sharon area, and was taken to Beilinson with head and abdominal injuries.
