A delegation of rabbis from the organization Dirshu, representing Israel, the US, and Europe, recently visited Belarus to inaugurate the renovated Beit Midrash of the Radin Yeshiva.
The delegation, led by prominent yeshiva heads and arbiters of Jewish law, was hosted by Rabbi Moshe Fima, who oversaw the restoration of the Radin Yeshiva complex. The new Beit Midrash was named "Heichal Dirshu" in honor of the global Torah organization. Speeches were delivered by Rabbis Efraim Waxman and Avraham Saleim, and Rabbi David Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of Hebron, gave a general lecture.
Dirshu President Rabbi David Hofstedter spoke about the founding of the new Beit Midrash. Following the dedication ceremony, the delegation proceeded to the Radin cemetery to pray at the Chofetz Chaim's grave, where Rabbis Yechiel Michel Steinmetz and Uri Deutsch delivered words of inspiration. Psalms for the welfare of the Jewish people were recited with great emotion by Rabbis Shimon Galai and Shmuel Eliezer Stern.
In keeping with Dirshu tradition, a "Sefer HaGiborim" (Book of Heroes) was placed on the holy grave. This book contained over 100,000 names of Dirshu learners and participants in the daily Halacha study of the "Mishnah Berurah" and the "Daily Page" program. Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon recited a special prayer composed for the rabbis' journey, asking for success for all Dirshu learners and the entire Torah community.
The delegation then traveled to Volozhin, where they prayed Mincha in the recently restored Volozhin Yeshiva hall. Afterward, they walked to the cemetery to visit the grave of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, where Rabbi Shriel Rosenberg delivered words of inspiration and Psalms were recited.
