Bnei Sakhnin's coach, Yossi Abukasis, was involved in an ugly incident with a group of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans during a 0-0 draw at Bloomfield Stadium. Abukasis cursed towards the stands after claiming he endured severe verbal abuse throughout the match. He stated that a section of Maccabi fans, seated behind the Sakhnin bench, wished him and his daughters cancer.

"They cursed me the whole game," Abukasis said, responding to questions about his own outburst. "I think they deserve much more. The curses they hurled at me during the game... why aren't you mentioning that? It's a shame you didn't hear what they said above me, curses worse than the word I said to them, and I was mumbling. There are great coaches than me who have outbursts like this. You sit calmly and don't hear the curses from the first minute."

Abukasis added, "There are emotions, I didn't throw anything. They also need to be educated. Maccabi Tel Aviv's crowd doesn't deserve everything - to curse such severe curses from the start of the game. Just because a crowd buys a ticket doesn't give them the right to curse such severe curses. It's permissible to curse, no problem, but severe curses? If you say what happened, everyone will justify me."
