IDF Strikes Gaza, Eliminating Hamas Operatives and Destroying Weapons Caches

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet security agency conducted a series of strikes across the Gaza Strip, targeting Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives and infrastructure. During a meeting in Gaza City, several Hamas "Nukhba" operatives were eliminated. In the northern Gaza Strip, an anti-tank missile commander from Islamic Jihad was killed.

In addition to eliminating operatives, the IDF and Shin Bet destroyed four weapons storage facilities belonging to Hamas and Islamic Jihad. According to the IDF, these caches contained dozens of weapons, including rockets, explosives, mortars, Kalashnikov rifles, and other combat equipment. The military stated that these weapons were stored in violation of the ceasefire.

The IDF asserted that prior to the strikes, measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Warnings were also issued to the local population before the attacks on the weapons depots. The military stated that the recent terrorist activities by these groups, including advancing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians and efforts to rebuild Hamas's capabilities, necessitated these actions to neutralize the threats they posed.
