A source close to the investigation has stated that evidence of forgery in official protocols was gathered, contradicting claims by the Likud party that a previous police inquiry into the matter was closed. The controversy centers on allegations made by former Military Secretary, retired Major General Avi Gil, who claimed that protocol times were altered in the Prime Minister's office after the October 7th attacks.

Gil revealed in a recent interview that a secretary reported being asked by the Chief of Staff to change the recorded time of a call with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on October 7th from 6:40 AM to 6:29 AM. The secretary reportedly questioned the change, but the Chief of Staff insisted on the earlier time, claiming he was on the call then.

The Movement for Quality of Government has formally requested the Attorney General, State Prosecutor, Police Commissioner, and head of the Investigations and Intelligence Division to investigate these suspicions. However, the ruling Likud party dismissed the claims as a "false blood libel" that had already been investigated and recommended for closure by the police two years prior.

Contrary to the Likud's assertion, the source familiar with the investigation stated the case was never closed. According to the source, the police developed sufficient evidence to file an indictment, but the decision now rests with the prosecution. Braverman himself was questioned under caution in November 2024 by Lahav 433 regarding his alleged involvement in altering the call time, which could impact the timeline documentation of the Prime Minister's actions during the initial hours of the attack. Braverman has denied the allegations, characterizing the incident as a clerical error correction.
