Gadi Eisenkot, head of the "Yahad" party and a candidate for Israeli prime minister, revealed that he received a threatening message placed on the grave of his son, Gal, who was killed during the war in Gaza. In an interview with the Saturday supplement of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Eisenkot stated that an individual visited the cemetery and left the message on his son's tombstone. "Someone made sure to come to the cemetery and leave me a threatening message, placing it on my son's grave," he said.

Eisenkot explained that he initially hesitated about how to respond but ultimately decided not to take any action, adding, "At this stage of life, it is very difficult to frighten me." Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid expressed solidarity with Eisenkot, writing on the X platform, "I hold my friend's hand in the face of despicable abuses. There are no limits to the depravity that political opponents have reached."
