Israeli basketball player Lucas Goldberg has officially signed with Bnei Herzliya, the team announced on Friday. The 33-year-old forward joins the "Blues" after two seasons with Hapoel HaEmek, where he averaged 6.5 points per game in 25 appearances last season. Throughout his league career, Goldberg has averaged 8.9 points per game. He previously played for Hapoel Afula and Hapoel Galil Elyon.

Goldberg expressed his excitement about joining Herzliya, citing the team's consistent ambition to compete at the top and play in European competitions. "I am excited to join Herzliya, a team that in recent years has consistently aimed to compete at the top and play in Europe," he stated. "I look forward to meeting the fans, my teammates, and hope to integrate quickly and do whatever the team needs from me to win and help it achieve its season goals."

Coach Yehou Orland described Goldberg as a player the team has long admired and sought to acquire. "Lucas is a player we know well and have sought to add to the team in the past, but the conditions were not ripe," Orland said. "Fortunately, after a long summer searching for the Israeli player to complete the squad, the opportunity arose to sign Lucas, and it was an opportunity we could not miss."

Orland further elaborated that Goldberg is "exactly the type of player we were looking for to complete the squad, a smart and versatile player, an excellent defender, who can play both forward positions." Despite the late addition, the coach is confident that Goldberg's experience will facilitate a quick integration and anticipates seeing his best performance for the team.
