The IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced on Thursday evening that Captain Eliab Haim Tzfalamus, a 21-year-old from Haifa, was killed in an operational incident in southern Lebanon. Tzfalamus served as a combat officer in the 603rd Battalion, part of the 7th Brigade's combat team. Three other IDF soldiers were lightly injured in the same incident and evacuated for medical treatment.

The incident occurred during operational activity near the Litani River, where a military Humvee overturned. Tzfalamus was killed as a result of the rollover, with the three other soldiers sustaining injuries. This death follows other fatalities in operational incidents not directly involving combat with terrorists. Two weeks prior, Sergeant Majors (Res.) Nadav Kali and Ofek Moalem were killed in the Gaza Strip due to the explosion of a "Bat" type drone at a new outpost.
