Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael! party, revealed that an anonymous individual placed a threatening message on the grave of his son, Gal Eisenkot, who fell in combat in the Gaza Strip in December 2023. In an interview with "Yedioth Ahronoth's" weekend supplement, Eisenkot stated that his son's grave has recently become a target for threats directed at him. Eisenkot described how someone visited the cemetery and left a plaque on Gal's grave inscribed with threats against him. "There was someone who made sure to come to the cemetery and leave a threatening message for me on Gal's grave," he said. Eisenkot admitted he considered how to respond but ultimately decided against taking action, stating, "At this stage of life, it is very difficult to frighten me."

The revelation drew a sharp response from Opposition Chairman Yair Lapid, who posted a message of support for Eisenkot on X. "I strengthen my friend Gadi Eisenkot against the pathetic and despicable attacks," Lapid wrote, adding, "There is no limit to the depths political opponents have reached."
