The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted strikes in Khan Younis, Gaza, earlier this week, eliminating Ibrahim Allam, a commander in the military wing of the Hamas terror organization. Allam had infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th massacre, participating in the murder of numerous Israeli civilians and the abduction of Sergeant Shaked Dahan's body. The IDF stated the strike on Monday was intended to neutralize the threat Allam posed, as he had recently been advancing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians and working to rebuild Hamas's capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.

Precautions were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Southern Command forces are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove immediate threats. In a separate strike last Wednesday, the IDF eliminated Moatazmut Muhammad Suleiman Salah, another Hamas operative who had also been advancing terror plots and working to restore the organization's capabilities.

These assassinations are part of ongoing IDF operations against Hamas commanders and operatives involved in the October 7th attacks. Earlier this week, an operative who planted explosives in the Yellow Line area after leaving Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza was killed. In late September, Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Jabein, a Hamas commander involved in holding nine Israeli hostages, was eliminated. Operative Saher Sakr, who rode the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani from the Nova music festival, was also killed.

Defense Minister Israel Katz reported that out of approximately 6,000 terrorists who crossed into Israel on October 7th, 4,000 have been eliminated, with 2,000 remaining. Katz stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's directive to the IDF and security forces is to pursue and eliminate all terrorists, from senior to junior ranks, without limitation.
