The list of recipients for the President's Medal of Courage is expanding to include another passenger who assisted in subduing a pilot who intended to crash a Flydubai flight. Initially, the award was to be given to Yiniv Hayun, Dr. Shote Musayev, Zvika Mans, and Assaf Radwan. Following appeals from fellow passengers, Tali Mans, Zvika Mans' wife, was added to the list. Now, Or Perdilov has also been recognized for his role in overpowering the Omani pilot who planned to crash the plane with all its passengers.
Perdilov was among the passengers who met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about a week prior. According to the President's Residence, the decision to include Perdilov was a routine one, prompted by a request from some of the initial five recipients. The President's Residence indicated that this might not be the final list, as more testimonies from passengers who aided during the "flight of terror" may emerge. These will be reviewed by a dedicated committee to determine eligibility for the presidential award.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place today at 3:30 PM at the President's Residence in Jerusalem.
