  • BMW has launched the iX4, a coupe-SUV electric vehicle, alongside the iX3.
  • The iX4 will be available in Europe from March 2027 and is expected in Israel then.
  • The iX4 features a sloping roofline, differentiating it from the iX3.
  • Powertrain options include a 374 hp 40 xDrive, a 469 hp 50 xDrive with 828 km range, and a 612 hp M60 xDrive.
  • The iX4 utilizes an 800-volt architecture and supports fast charging up to 400 kW.

BMW has officially revealed the iX4, a stylish coupe-SUV variant that joins the recently introduced iX3. This marks the first time the X4 model line receives an all-electric powertrain. Both the iX3 and iX4 will be available in a potent new M60 xDrive performance version.

The iX4 shares its front-end design and interior with the iX3, featuring BMW's latest "Neue Klasse" design language. Key interior elements include a "Panoramic Vision" display stretching across the dashboard, augmented reality head-up display, and a 17.9-inch central multimedia screen. The exterior differentiates from the iX3 starting at the roofline, which slopes backward to create the coupe silhouette. While length, width, and wheelbase remain identical to the iX3 at 4.78 meters, 1.89 meters, and 2.90 meters respectively, the iX4 is 4 cm lower at 1.59 meters. Its trunk capacity is reduced by 30 liters to 490 liters, though the front trunk remains the same at 58 liters.

Both models utilize an 800-volt architecture. The entry-level iX4 40 xDrive features dual-motor all-wheel drive producing a combined 374 horsepower, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. It is equipped with an 82.6 kWh battery offering a range of up to 638 km, an improvement of 17 km over the iX3. Charging at 11 kW takes 8.25 hours, or 4.25 hours with a 22 kW charger. DC fast charging is supported up to 300 kW, reaching 10-80% in 21 minutes.

A mid-range 50 xDrive variant offers 469 horsepower, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. This version boasts a larger 108.7 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 828 km, 23 km more than the iX3. Home charging takes 11 hours (or 5.5 hours with 22 kW), and DC fast charging supports up to 400 kW, also taking 21 minutes for a 10-80% charge.

The flagship M60 xDrive model delivers a powerful 612 horsepower, with 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and a top speed limited to 240 km/h. It uses the same 108.7 kWh battery as the 50 xDrive, but its range is rated at 777 km due to performance demands. The M60 includes M-specific performance enhancements such as sportier styling, M wheels, adaptive suspension, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential. The iX3 also receives the M60 variant with similar performance figures and a range of 754 km.

The BMW iX4 is scheduled for release in Europe in March 2027, with the Israeli importer, Eldad Motors, expecting its arrival around the same time.
